Hi everyone, welcome to Nox Reads, I’m Nox, and this year I am going to be participating in the Pondathon II!

What is the Pondathon?
Pondathon II is a story-driven and gardening-themed readathon hosted and run by CW from The Quiet Pond. The aim of the Pondathon II readathon is to read books to earn plants and decorate your own little garden so that we can restore the forest together. More information about the readathon can be found here.
Information about Joining the Pondathon
- You can sign-up to the Pondathon II readathon here. The readathon starts on January 10th 2022 and ends on December 11th 2022; sign-ups are open across the duration of the readathon.

My Pond Character

My Pond Character is Hope, the Vox Fabulas, or Voice of Stories, of Sleeping River. Sleeping River is a close-knit community near a long river full of magic, and the river occasionally chooses people to serve as Voxes, or Voices, for them. Hope’s job is to learn the stories of Sleeping River’s community and anyone else she meets, and her magic is tied to others’ stories. She’s a gray rabbit with glasses, and you’ll often find her wearing a yellow flower crown and using her vine-wrapped cane.

Doc is Hope’s friend from Sleeping River. He’s not magical, he’s just a little grumpy, but Hope likes to think that she balances him out a little bit. He’s a golden retriever with glasses and red slippers. You’ll often find him wearing his pin and a pink flower crown that Hope made for him, which he’ll swear he wears because she makes him, but she told him a while ago that he didn’t have to. He just keeps putting it on every morning. Doc likes making people feel better, and even if he doesn’t have magic, he’ll do his best to help heal people.
Doc is Ian from OptimisticDepressive‘s character (@IanDoesMC on Twitter) but I helped design him so I get to mention him in my post. It’s also hard to share about Hope and not include Doc, because wherever Hope goes, you can usually see her enthusiastically dragging bringing Doc along with her and telling him the latest story she learned.
And with that, my friends, Hope, Doc, Ian, and I are all hoping to see you at the Pond this year! Any book read is helpful, so let’s go help the forest!
I’ll see you in the next post.
Love,
Nox
